Wood Bending Test per TBB I
« on: November 06, 2007, 03:41:00 PM »
Hi Bowyers,
I am running some tests per the Wood Bending Test in the Traditional Bowyers Bible I, and have a question.  It mentions flexing the wood with a 1" deflection for a total of five times for the initial reading.  Then flex to 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", etc and record weights/set with each.
Should I flex 5 times each time before taking a reading... or just flex once at each setting?  This seems like a pretty neat test, but my initial results were a little confusing...

Yes I would then do one where you take a reading after each time you flex it and see if it makes any difference
