Satori string
« on: November 03, 2017, 02:12:00 PM »
I just bought a Satori and would like to buy a new string. Would you Satori owners give me your recommendations for a string and why you like it. Thanks, Jim
Jim

They didn't send me a bowstring with the bow, so while I was waiting for the one they should have sent, I shot the bow with one I had made out of BCY 10 for another bow that happened to be the same size.  When the stock string came, which I believe is made out of D97, I found that I liked it better because it seemed slightly quieter than mine, and have used it ever since.  I don't plan to replace it until it wears out.

When I do replace it, I will probably call Chad Weaver or some other stringmaker who has experience with a lot more types of string than I do.

BAK, do you have an sbd string on a Satori or is that your favorite string maker?

How the string is made will make as much or more difference than the material.  Dynaflight '97 and Dynaflight 10 are practically the same material--so close that these two are the only materials I know of that you can mix in the same string without any ill effects.

I don't have a Satori, but in my experience (20+ years) the blended materials are generally quieter, all else being equal.  These are materials like 450+, 452X, Trophy, and BCY-X.  BCY-X is my current favorite--very durable, very stable.  18-20 strands has been working very well for me.

Hey Jim, check with Craig on what string he has on his Satori. It really shoots well.

I have them on every bow, and have a satori on order so one will go there too.
