I rattled in a beautiful 10 pt, while on the ground in my leafy suit. Wouldn't you know it, he came in so fast I couldn't turn for a shot!
The next buck decided to stay in the bushes and scope it out from a safe distance. All I saw were LONG tines when he turned his head.
Finally, a sassy 8 pt decided to sneak up on me right before dark. I think he took great satisfaction in stomping and blowing from right behind me before turning and running away. I wear a face mask, so I don't know if any of his spit got on my neck but he was THAT close!
This whitetail gig is a lot different than the elk I'm used to hunting, but there are still special moments in every hunt. Pretty sure we were designed to be hunters.
