Quiver question

Ok, so I've finally gotten really annoyed with my quiver. It's screwed to the bow (Bear SuperMag) and I didn't have the screws that came with it so it's not quick detach. It requires an alan to remove it. I really like have the arrows/glove/bow all as one package for walking, stalking etc. But I've noticed that 98% of the time I end up taking the arrows out of the quiver and putting them on the ground, or between some tree branches or something because I can't maneuver around with the arrows. Because my bow is so short the arrows actually stick out lower than the button limb does. So usually they get in the way. Anyone else have this problem? I don't really want a hip quiver or anything like that because usually when I'm on my way out to my stand I've got my chair, backpack and 9 year old in tow.

Yes I do have some thoughts. A couple of things that work very well for me. First remove the screws. Measure the length and check the threads.(probably 10-24) Get the same threads with a knob on the ends. As soon as I get in a stand I remove the quiver and hang it slightly behind by right shoulder. If you can't get the exact length get longer, screw a nut on then cut the excess off. When you remove the nut it will help clean up the threads. You could epoxy a wing nut on a bolt if the looks don't bother you. Paint any thing shines. This is getting rather long if you need help making something just PM me. Thanks Kenneth, problem with that is the quiver is two pieces because the screw holes are on top and bottom of riser portion of the bow. The quiver was originally one piece but to make it fit I had to cut in half. I tried just one, but it seemed really high. Something that I could quickly detach would be really ideal.

For my needs I have settled on a side quiver (four broadheads and one blunt) and a single arrow bow quiver for deer hunting.  

Roving, stumping and small game I take the foam plug out of the quiver and I can put 18 blunts in it.

mounting a Kwickee bracket would make it portable. I've got a 3 arrow version on mine. I pre drilled and used wood screws versus machine but either way is no problem.

As stated above, a single arrow quiver or hood ( BW is one who makes them, others do as well) would satisfy your need for one "right there" and the others are available if you need them, but out of the way.

As with any piece of equipment, use it for a while under hunt conditions and you learn what you need to do to live with it.  Most work fine, just need that learning curve.

Even a back quiver, which many think is too noisy.... I find, if it is making noise under hunt conditions, you are moving too quickly... slow down.

It makes no difference one piece or two. Replace the screws with screws with knobs on the end. The inserts in the bow are fine. If you can't find them just get the right thread and make knobs. If I made a bracket it would be fastened to that part of the quiver permanently and use the knob screw to hold it to the bow. All my quivers have to come on and off easy so that I can use them on multiple bows and to hang in the stand. Less bulk to be spotted getting ready for the shot. >>>----> Ken
