Hera,

Nice work. That bow looks awesome.

And here I thought I was the only one crazy enough to shoot at work. Of course where I shoot there is a little more room.

I just love homemade stuff.

Is there any woods there you can make a selfbow out of? I have yet to make a laminated bow but I've made selfbows. its alot of fun to make them.

Anyway keep up the good work!

Is there any woods there you can make a selfbow out of?

In Taiwan, there is a lot of Yew,but buy or lumber Yew is illegal.I like the grain of Yew,but my first choise is bamboo.Bamboo in Taiwan is very common and cheap, and there is many kinds  bamboo also.
Boo selfbow is my 2008 project,I will try to build boo lam bow(with glass),and full bamboo veneer lam bow(w/o glass) or bamboo stick bow(no lamination).

The picture is a BIG THICK BOO.

Hera, I am only able to use my bow on fish, tilaia and mudfish are the ones I get.Trying to arrange to bowhunt ib the Subic bay area for pigs and deer, with Aetas as guides. Not sure if we can make it happen.
I have a bamboo selfbow from southern Philippines  and meybe a little thinner  as the one youve shown but slightly longer internodes ,it goes with a cane arrow about 40+ inches long with only one internode and palmwood foreshaft and sharpened bamboo point dubbed with poison.I will try to post p[ics of it tomorrow.

Gil,deer is uncommon in Taiwan, esp spotted deer(Formosan sika deer).
Formosan Muntjac (or Formosan barking deer) is my favor, body weight up to 30LB.They are shy and small, but beautiful.

I never go out with my bow,I wish I have a chance.   Barking deer.

Hera,

Cool video and nice bow you made.
Like Jeff said, have a look at Terry's video and form. It helped me a great deal to improve my form.

LOL,I said I need to do something in my long long clinic life,in order to prevent some mental problem in the future.
I destoried my CRT PC screen 5years ago(over heat?),just because too much dust made by electric sander (bow building). Now I move that sander to the backyard.

Hera,
Your Formosan barking deer looks similar to the Philippine mouse deer.Terry's form and shooting video is at the member videos section.
What are those rods in the picture in front of the bookshelves, are they walking sticks or blowguns?
Nice collection of bows too.
