My condolences to Rogers family.
Always sad news to hear of loss in our traditional bow hunting brotherhood.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Roger, however, the knowledge he so generously shared was always present as I attempted to figure out buck deer.

Roger was a pioneer and an inspiration to many; it is obvious he meant so much to everyone, he will be missed. Best wishes to Roger's family.

I shot his broadheads years ago, I called him to talk about using them . It was a 3 hour conversation , he loved bowhunting and would help ANYBODY be better at it. Talked to him many times over the years at different functions, very humble man who loved his family Probably one of the top 3 whitetail bowhunters that EVER lived. Condolences to his family and please carry on his legacy! RIP big guy !!!!!!

Prayers for his family, remember reading his stuff way back in Bowhunter magazine, loved those old Snuffers, sure hope there is whitetails to chase in heaven.
Now we're digging where the taters are.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.  We'll read through this when we are able, and I'll reply to all of the personal emails too.

The visitation is Friday 6 pm and funeral Saturday 11 am, Munz Pirnstill funeral home, Bucyrus, Ohio.  The family was taken by surprise and we are still working through the shock.

i met Roger about 1976 at his first speaking engagement at the Potato city Motor Inn in Coudersport Pa. He was guest speaker for the Pennsylvania Professional Bowhunters banquet. He kept the audience spellbound with his knowledge of whitetails. i have fortunate to have shared several hunts and camps Roger. a great friend and person. He will sorely missed. God bless the family

The bowhunting world lost a true treasure and a genuine legend.  I'm sorry that I've never been able to cross paths with Roger. My condolences to Ryan and the Rothaar family.

One of the many outdoor writers that appealed to me in my youth. Thanks Ron for the wonderful pics and stories. I'm grateful for his attention to what we love.
