Photo in old Bowhunter Mag
« on: November 08, 2007, 10:37:00 PM »
Anybody else remember the old photo that was in Bowhunter mag several years ago (25 or so)of a bowhunter in Pa I think drawin on a deer out of a treestand with like 26 or 27 other deer in the pic? I think it was a poster that was for sale. I asked my brother last week if he remembered, and he drew a blank. I think my bro-in-law even had the poster at one time.

Hey Mark , I think you may be thinking of the Bob Kirshner picture/poster. He had the same picture on the front of his book also! He is a lure maker from PA. Not to be confused with the Don Kirshner of Don Kirshner's Rock Concert fame!Anyone else remember those days? I'm showing my age.Take care, Paul

A couple 'odd' things about the picture, if it is the one I'm thinking of--1, there were apples all over the ground and 2, the guy is shooting a left handed bow right handed-or vice versa, I can't remember which.

Jeff w - you are right, I had that pic years ago.  Rt handed bow left handed, apples all over the place around oak trees.

Wow! Check out the high tech stand, smelly boots, and ineffective camo pattern with no provision for a safety harness built in!

Man that brings back old memories, my father-in-law which at the time the poster was out had an archery shop with the poster hanging on the door. We would ask people to count the deer in the picture and ask if they noticed anything different about the hunter and the deer.

I remember getting that poster.I also remember something about counting the number of deer in it,some were hidden, they said those were apples on the ground and not apple trees.Brings back some memories.

what you see in the picture above is only half the picture. There were more deer to the right; where the words are- and maybe more picture to the left.
I still have my baker stand; used it just for memories a couple years ago; and instantly remembered why I hadn't used it for decades =:0
