Hog hunt in Florida?
« on: February 19, 2018, 09:53:00 PM »
My wife and kids are heading to Fort Meyers in a couple weeks, so i googled hog hunts in the area.  Hog Heaven popped up, don't know their reputation, but I can see I'd want a stand hunt over a feeder.  Would 47# with axis arrows and 125 grain Stingers work on a medium sized hog?

Yes! I have killed a boatload of hogs, with 48#! Just hit them low in the armpit, esp on the bigger ones.

Thats too much bow for hogs, id get tired of cleaning the mud out of my heads after they stick in the ground so far after going through the hog    :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:

Kidding of course, but you have plenty of bow. Ive killed several with a #40 longbow, thats really all i use on them. Good luck, and post pics!

How does license and tags work there?  I have a friend who has them around him.  They are not an animal for special tags as far as I can tell and they are not native-do you need a license?

Nothing wrong with hogging over a feeder, helps keep the bastards standing at least a little still.  LOL.

No need for licence or tags to hog hunt Florida.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8

He's right, forgot since I only hunt public and get all the tags I need every year for other species.
