We keep one in our boat for fishing in the ocean, have never activated it.  Be sure to register it properly and keep up with the required updates every year or two.  PLB battery is good for 5 years in the model we have, then you need a new PLB, cannot replace battery.

The Hull Truth boating forum is a good place to research PLBs.

There are plenty of testimonials on their website but just wanted to hear straight from a user.

At my age and physical condition a 150 yards off the trail is dangerous country.       hoping for a sheep tag this year and it could be a mind easer.
