Airbow
« on: January 31, 2007, 07:41:00 PM »
I found my old Airbow buried in the back of years of unused archery related items(my closet). Having switched from compound to self made self bows, I basically had to relearn good form. Well that Airbow is the ticket! For those who don't know what I'm talking about it is a tube that clamps on your bow and has an arrow like plunger that locks onto your string. When you shoot the arrow/plunger takes up all the energy of the shot by forcing the air in the tube into a smaller tube. They went so far as to make a chamber that allows you to open and place a BB or .17 pellet/dart and shoot it should you want. But as an indoor/in home shooting aid (with out BB's)it is great! It's alot nicer than going out in the cold and standing right in front of a target with your eyes closed.
I bought it in the mid 80's so I don't know if it is made anymore. It was made by Indoor Archery Inc. They were from Melbourne, Florida. Anyone else have one of these laying around?

I just saw a new version in an archery magazine. But this time it was designed to shoot paintballs. Sounds like fun.

I have seen the paintball version too and think that could be a blast to take to a paitball field and shoot some of them players. As for what you are talking about I am pretty sure you can buy a new one at freddiebearsports.com but they call it safe draw.
