thanks joe....the you're probably correct there. the back tension thing is still somthing I have to think about every once in a while or I loose it.
a little background may be helpful too...came over to the 'trad side' in 99, but went deep in and went right from confounded devices (someone here used that description once and I kinda liked it) straight to selfbows. and cought the bug bad. made a bunch of bows over the next couple years and never consistently shot anything. never developed good form.
got frustrated enough after missing a bunch of deer that the confounded device came back into my thoughts...and I knew I didn't want to go that route so in October I resolved to get my form down, regardless if I had to shoot at night (after my daughter gets to sleep) in the dark and cold.
so I've been sticking the same 2 bows, (but most the recurve in the vids) and shooting in my garage and driveway at night under lights at least 3 times a week. sometimes doing the 'blind bale' (upclose with eyes closed trying to feel the form develop), and sometimes between 15 and 20 yards. (20 yards is the limit only cause I'd be out in the middle of the street dodging cars). I can definitely say that I'm very happy with the improvement thusfar....but I know that there are (probably a lot of) little things that I can work on.
thanks for the input!
