Built in clicker/draw check?
« on: February 08, 2007, 01:25:00 PM »
I was chatting with an acquaintance/friend the other day about some archery competition related matters and he asked me an interesting question that I really couldn't answer. His question was "is it possible to build a clicker/draw check into a bows design?" It seems last year he was shooting one of the bigger traditional 3D shoots with a pair of guys, brothers actually, and he noticed something odd when they were shooting. When they would reach full draw, their bows apparently made a faint, but noticable, click noise and their release followed very quickly after the click. He didn't notice any obvious clickers, or anything similar, installed on the bows. When he asked the two about the noise, they replied that's just how the bows were made. Talking more with the two, he learned that they build their own equipment. According to my friend, a very nice looking takedown recurve. So, the question is can someone build a clicker/draw check into a bows design that's not noticable?
"You're either trained or untrained.  When it hits the fan, you will always fall to the level of your training."
