Bone on Bone
« on: February 08, 2007, 10:01:00 PM »
First...what a great forum. I've learned a lot just looking.

I'm very much a newby, and I'm trying to take it one step at a time. I'm having some trouble with the "bone on bone" positioning for my bow hand. Anybody got any tips, practice methods, advice?

Thanks!

Don't understand your question.  I just loosly grip the bow in my hand, and let it be natural.

What kind of bow are you shooting ? If its a recurve with a "pistol style" grip it's kinda hard to get the grip I think your describing. With a longbow its a low wrist position that puts the weight over the center over your wrist. Byron Ferguson discusses this in his video. It happens to by the style I shoot with but it can promote some torque. If its a longbow try picking up the grip like you were picking up a suitcase and give that a try. You will feel the weight more in the web between the thumb and forefinger.  Good luck.
