Bare shaft tuning

I've been shooting for a long time but today is the first time that I've tried bare shaft tuning....as I understand this method...if the bare shaft and the fletched shaft group the same..then the bow and the arrows are in tune...is this correct???....I shot a bare shaft into the left dot and a fletched arrow into the right dot.....the only thing I see, is the bare shaft is angled slightly to the left....is this normal????...if not...what is the fix???

if they hit the same you might try a little fine tuning but I dont know how much I'd go from here without seeing it.   nock left is weak, you might try and move your silencers down just a hair, or move your pressure point on your shelf (if you have one) towards the belly just a tad and see what happens.   If it shoots fine I wouldnt move a thing.

The next step would be BH's and field points fletched.

You want the bareshaft to show a little weak because when you add fletch it will stiffen it a tad. From the photo it looks like that target isn't too far away. It would be a good idea to back up and try it at 15, 20, 25, 30 yards, etc., as far as you can go. Discrepancies will show more pronounced as you increase the distance. If you can repeat that shot over and over, you are pretty much good to go. With properly spined arrows, bare shafts will group with fletched out to 60, 80 yards and more if you can shoot that well.
