New set of Legacy's
« on: February 12, 2007, 07:07:00 AM »
Hi All,

I used to shoot 2016 Legacy's with my Great Plains Palo Duro 47# @28" but according to a Legacy shaft table I got from the internet, these supposed to be a bit too heavy. So I thought I'll give it a try with the 1916 Legacy with a 100gr field point.
I tuned them bare shafting and they were OK for my draw lenght of 28".
So I put some further effort making them appealing to the eye.
I first made a set of 4 to see how they fly when fletched. Well.. WOW, fast and accurate, better than my heavier 2016's.
The picures show my new set that I am gonna use now for all my shoots. The feathers are 5" LW shield, helical fletched.
BTW. I'm shooting now with my new American Leather Full Shot glove and I like it!

Talk about "eye appeal"!  Those are too pretty to shoot.  Very nice!

They are nice!

I have several bows that I shoot 30 1/4" 1916s and 125 gr. points.

Yours put mine to shame.

I have some old Beman ICS 500 Classics that have a nice wood grained look.
I bet you'd like them.
They'd probably shoot out of your set-up. I added a couple of 20 gr. weights, up front, to get them to bareshaft with my 125 gr. points.
They are a bit darker and look more like wood.

I don't know why they stopped making them.

If you ever shoot with me we will not have to worry about getting our 1916's mixed up. Yours look great. The 1916 are a great shaft.

THESE ARROWS ARE AS PRETTY AS THE BOW YOU'RE SHOWING. OBVIOUSLY, YOU DON'T DO ANYTHING HALFWAY! IF YOUR OLD 2016s ARE AS NICE AS THESE, KEEP ME IN MIND IF YOU SELL THEM! GOD'S PEACE, JED
