Carbon Express Heritage 250?????
« on: March 04, 2007, 03:52:00 PM »
Hello all!
I have a question about the Carbon Express Heritage 250's. I have just recently got another bow (Damon Howatt Hunter) which is 60#'s at 28" and I need to get carbon arrows for it. I have looked it up and according to paper the 250's should work with a 100 grn insert, 5 grn pi weight tube, and 125 grn BH. This brings the total weight up to 689 grains (11.48 grn per pound of bow) and a FOC of 13.48%

OR:
the same above set up EXCEPT with a 3 grn pi weight tube which brings the Total Weight to 631 grains (10.51 grn per pound of bow) with a FOC of 14.66%

How does these two set ups sound to yall? Which one would be better in yalls opinions?

Do yall like the Heritage 250's?

How are Carbon Express's charts? Too high, too low, pretty accurate?

Thanks for any info guys and gals, I sure appreciate it! HH

The 250 should work but you won't know your finished weight until you have tuned the arrows to the bow. You may need to leave them a little longer than you are planning. I have not found the weight tubes to alter spine for me so you can choose that after you tune and get your weight. Start full length with your intended point/insert weight and shoot and trim 1/4 inch at a time untill they are grouping using ol's bareshaft method, check out the bow tunning section,  http://www.bowmaker.net/index2.htm
shoot straight shoot often

I have a CM Takedown Hunter I which is 60lbs at my 29" draw. This is not my primary bow, so I've tried the 30" CX 4560 and Heritage 250 shafts I shoot with my 51lbs@29" Hunter II.  Looks like they're going to be too light at 60lbs, but possibly would be OK but pushing the edge if I were able to shoot them at 29"...
