Flemish string construction
« on: March 11, 2007, 02:38:00 PM »
A few years back Traditional Bowhunter had a two part article on building Flemish strings. Part 1 was on the jig construction and part 2 in the next issue was how to make the string. I still have my jig , however I cannot locate the magazine that contains the article on building the string.
Can anyone inform me of the building method and the year and month of the magazine issue.
Thanks
hanks.

I don't know the issue you're looking for but for a great explanation on building flemish strings you should look at the Traditional Bowhunters Handbook by TJ Conrads.  Great book with a ton of info on just about everything.
Always keep the wind in your face, and an arrow nocked.

Traditional Bowhunter had an article on building Flemish Strings in the Winter 1989 issue. In addition, there was another article in the April/May 1995 issue. A third article appeared in the Feb/Mar 2006 issue. Hope that this helps you.
