Went to my Brothers house today outside town I had taken my Howard Hill bow just in case I saw a jackrabbit on the drive. Didn't see any rabbits, the wind was blowing about 30 mph. I took a couple shots at a sagebush instead, & about a foot out of the bow my arrow turned sidewase about 30 degrees & centered the sagebush I shot at. It looked so neat going sideways I shot a few more to watch them fly. Kind of fun!
I chronographed this bow at home yesterday, & got the following results: Arrow weight 573gr POC 29-1/2" long,125gr field point.
Bow Howard Hill 66" Big Five purchased from Bob Burton 61lb@28. I draw just 28".
Shot 21 arrows through the Chrony @ 2' from point of arrow. Average Vel. for 21 shots 170.8 FPS extreem spread for the 21 arrows 11.9 fps.
What I found that was very interesting about the 5 shot I discovered that when I really concentrated of form I would get average 172.2 fps. When I just shot without concentraiting on form I averaged 168 fps. Form does count & I intend to research this further with my Chronograph. Interesting. Frank
