arrow flight/ shooting form question
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:20:00 AM »
Field tipped arrows fly like darts. Broadhead tipped arrows have rear of arrow(fletching end) jumps upwards after release when leaving bow, but fly straight after that. Bow is canted. What gives?

If your field tips are the same weight as your broadheads, my guess is that you are doing something different when you shoot broadheads.  Perhaps you are thinking about shooting broadheads, rather than just thinking about shooting arrows.  I know that happens to me, and my solution is to just shoot a lot of broadheads until my mind gets off the subject.

Just for fun, though, if all your broadheads are oriented in a particular direction (vertical or horizontal), you might try switching to the other orientation to see if that makes any difference.

Actually  I think I got it resolved today at the range. It was my release as Lymey said. Bad release symptoms are amplified with broadheads. I figured out what I was doing wrong and the problem went away. Thanks for all the help though.
