Glove VS Tab
« on: March 24, 2007, 08:22:00 PM »
What is everyone shooting? Why do you choose one over the other? I was going to get a Corodvan tab but for some reason I couldnt join Alaska Bowhunting so I had to go to 3Rivers and get a Berlin Deer Skin glove should shoot pretty good over a tab?

Ed's site has a problem with aol if that is your email account, it thinks its spam as he told me so I got a gmail account and it works fine. I recently switched to three under cordovan and a tab, took some getting used to after shooting glove and split fingers for many years but it gives me a cleaner release and made my arrows shoot weaker, had to shorten a touch. You can get it from Ed at Alaskan or try hear,  http://www.ewbateman.com/FingerTabs.htm,  bateman's is rubber backed and feels better to me than the suede backed tab.

I think it is a personal choice for every shooter, shoot what works best for you.I started out shooting a glove when I first started shooting. But now I prefer shooting a Bateman cordovan tab.It allows me to shoot with a deeper hook then most gloves allow.

I agree...its all just a personal choice. Most that like the glove use it because of the feel you get with a glove and cause tabs can sometimes be hard to keep up with in the field. But then there are some who choose the tab because of the release you get and the thickness you can get with a tab.
Genesis 27:3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.

I have shot with both Tab and Glove. My preference is the Glove. Of all the Tabs. I think the Bateman Cordovan Tab is tops. Of all the the gloves... American Leathers "Big Shot".
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

When I talked to the fellow at Bateman regarding ordering a tab he asked me what thickness do I want, did not know that was an option, he was very helpfull with the selection process asking many questions about my bows and style. He got it right as I love the tab.

I got a glove but it was a Large and still to small so 3RA is going to send me a XL here is the glove I got

I changed my mind on the Berlin glove what's everyone's opinions on the glove I just got? I think with the type of leather and the way its built it should give a beautiful release.

I sure do like my KantPinch tab. I have had troubles with gloves getting a groove in them after shooting a while with them------but I guess nothin lasts forever.

A big Amen to personal preference. I shot both, started with a tab but switched to a glove about 5 years ago. I just like the simplicity of wearing a glove.
