Pick colors that 1) don't match the surroundings, and 2) you can see really well.
Everyone has a color that just jumps out at them and it's different for different people. I use lime/chartreuse. A well known bowhunter uses red all the time but for me they wouldn't show up at all. So, pick what works best for you and don't worry about shooting "strange" colors. Fred Eichler shoots hot pink fletch and I don't see anyone giving him a hard time about it.
