Brace height querry
« on: April 23, 2007, 01:46:00 AM »
Last week there was a brief discussion on whether to leave a bow strung or not. Previous to that topic I had always left my bow unstrung when not in use. I have found that after a couple of days the brace height I set dropped by about 1/4" below the bowyer's recommendation. The querry is should I periodically increase the brace height to recommendation, and hence no point in leaving strung, or will the brace height stabilise with the dacron string I use?

A new string could stretch 1/4 inch. Regardless, always check that you are shooting the correct brace height. Adjust as needed.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
