Lets see pics of where you hunt
« on: November 11, 2007, 02:45:00 PM »
Thought it would be interesting to see some picks of where everyone hunts.

I'm fascinated by the nasty places where nobody else will go.  The monster briar patch, the mountainside covered in impenetrable laurel.  The places the big boys hide and will even use in daylight.  Plus since I hunt public land most of the time, I like places so hard to hunt most guys don't bother.

Heres one that was taken from my tree stand on Friday morning.  Shortly before there was a doe being chased by 4 bucks out in the area of sunlight by the far treeline.  This is the only direction in which I have a real view.  Over my left shoulder is a real nasty huge thicket.

Here is my view of the thicket to the left.

Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

1.2 miles from my truck. View from my treestand. Long, dark, cold, walk before dawn planned for tomorrow. Saw a BIG, FAT, doe being chased through there a few days ago. Scrapes have been freshened-23 degrees at 5AM tomorrow! Been in worse!        Oh, yeah, the leaves have been turning and falling.   :D

Jbjorn, you still have that much cover this late in the season?

Out back of my house in the summer time I could have  a herd of elephants and nobody would know, but this time of year I can spot a field mouse running through there. lol
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
