My form, need advice please.

Hi All,
Some weeks ago I made this video shooting my Great Plains Palo Duro 47# @28". Me and more trad shooters in our club are pretty much on our own and want to learn from you guys as much as possible. So let's hear your recommendations and/or comments.
(The target where I'm shooting at is at approximately 28 yards)

Looks pretty good.  I see two things you might want to pay attention to.  The first is your release.  It is forward instead of back. Your entire drawing arm moves straight forward about half and inch or so right at the release then comes back. It should come straight back with no forward movement.  The other is your bow arm shoulder. It appears to be off to the left a little. Rotate that shoulder in a little bit more and things will line up straight.

Thanks for the comment. I think both release and shoulder comes from me being a FITA target shooter for more than 12 years.
Today I payed attention to your remarks when shooting at our outdoor range. Especially the shoulder rotation worked out fine, it gave me an extra inch pull and a better line-up to the target. Also the "down-slam" of my bow arm was much less than before.
The release is another thing I need to work on for improvement.

Molson pretty much nailed it.  Your looking real good so far cept for those two things...

Before I make another observation....how satisfied are you about your shooting? I don't want to put any monsters in your head if you are shooting to your liking.

One thing that I would add is that it looks like you are consciously following through with your draw hand (to touch your shoulder). As long as you are releasing using back tension, do not worry about where your hand ends up. Stronger back tension will also help out what Molsen had pointed out on the release.

Thanks for the comments.
As I stated already I'm working the shoulder now and feel more comfortable with it, so I can say I'm satisfied with that as long as I can maintain consistancy.
As what Bobco 1965 says; I'm releasing in that way consciously and feel pretty comfortable with it but I want to pay more attention and maybe improve my release.

The "down-slam" of the bow arm is unlikely to be related to tiller, grip configuration, or your body-draw geometry.  It appears that you have poor follow through and have developed a bad habit of dropping the arm to watch the arrow flight.  At least as a training aid, I would recommend using a wrist sling and relaxing your grip.  Practice your form at very short distances and intentionally follow through for several seconds.  You might even want to practice this with your eyes closed.  It might take a long time to break the habit.  There is not enough detail to see consistency in your anchor and release.  You do release very quickly.  When practicing your form with bale shooting, I would also recommend delaying your release by at least 1-2 seconds.  Everyone I know who has been successful in slowing down the release has seen a big improvement in accuracy and consistency.  I am now in the 3-5 second range and doing better than ever.  Of course, that will be difficult if you are overbowed.
