There are as many responses as bow hunters/shooters.
But 3D and hunting are very different things.
I think that for 3D you need a bow you can draw as long you want without fatigue ( generally between 45 and 50 # )
In one session you must be able to shoot the 100th arrow as you shoot the first . Hunting is a bit different : you can hold an heavier bow you only shoot half a dozen time in a season
( if you’re lucky )
There are fantastic trad.bow you can use with light carbon arrows FF string and have very flat trajectories witch are perfect for 3D and give you the best of new technologies without sacrificing to the traditionalism.
That what I do and this give me fun, best result, and a lot of pleasure in 3D.
When comes hunting I switch for heavier and very quite bow, heavy wooden arrows, Dacron or FF string: I never shoot over 18/20 meters and I can’t imagine hunting a different way .
4X4 and F1 are cars but not for same use …
