[/QUOTEOB, strangely enough, that reminds me of when I was stationed in Germany (the 2nd time) and I used to have some long conversations with my landlord over a "bier" or two. He was a WWII vet also, only he was on the "other" side. He didn't speak much English and I could only speak and understand a little German, but he would sit and tell me about his days in the "afrika korps" under Rommel, and about his time in Italy and Russland (russia). It was kinda weird I thought because here I was drinkin a beer with a guy who was just forty some odd years ago firing bullets at my fellow country men(and possibly my Grandpa's and Great Uncles). As I got to know him however , I realized that he was just a regular guy caught up in a geopolitical conflict. I also realized at that time that a lot of good people on all sides had to suffer, sacrifice, and die for their country, regardless of their fanatical leaders at the time.
