I use the Crick-It. The first thing I do is replace the chain with a short piece of 400# FF bowfishing line (maybe an inch long) with a knot tied in the end. I then attach a piece of FF bowstring serving to the fishing line via a slipknot, and then attach the other end to the bowstring. That way, I can "quick detach" the clicker if need be. I also wrap the spring steel in a few layers of electrical tape to muffle the sound a bit.
Some folks pause after the click, and I tried that too, but I found I shoot much better if I pulled/pushed through the clicker, not into[/i it, and let the click trigger my release. It took a lot of getting used to, but it was well worth the effort.
