Greetings Mike.

There is a 3D course in Nelson that seems to get a lot of positive press.  I've never been there, but have heard good things about it.  Give a shout to longstiks (I think that's his handle) via PM and he can fill you in more.  There are actually several places to shoot in NE Ohio and I think you're not getting any response because you posted on the Shooters forum rather than PowWow where most of those guys are.  Another one who might be able to point you in the right direction is 4runr - he lives south of Akron.

I live near Akron, and would welcome the opportunity to shoot sometime.  I just shoot in my yard or in the woods - stumping, and I frankly stink, but it's always fun to shoot with somebody else.

Hope this helps!

Give me directions, if you guys aren't to far from Akron University I may head over. I live really close to downtown Akron and have been shooting this little 18 yard strip in my backyard.  Not much but, helps anyways.

Nelson is seasonal at best. Geauga Bowmen has a Trad.only range open 365 days we could get togather at either spot. Mike  :campfire:

I suggest you check out the Goodyear Wingfoot Bowhunters Club at
425 East Waterloo Rd, Suffield, Ohio. it's close to Akron near Wingfoot Lake.

This (outdoor only) range is open year-round, and offers quite a few targets, ranging from 10 yards to 60 yards on the practice range.  They also have an extensive trail with a couple dozen targets through woods and hills that include a few tree stand shots.  Membership is required.  Memberships are $35 per family, per year (you may wish to write first, as only limited memberships are available to non-Goodyear employees).  Members receive a key to the gate, you can go and shoot anytime.  They also have a schedule of shooting competitions, with year-end awards.

For more info see this link.

Awesome! Im from Canton/Hartville`ish.. Didnt realize there were so many trad shooters in the area.. Im new to trad archery, but am in love with it.. I will keep an eye on this thread and see if a plan forms for people to meet up and shoot! I can open my house for shooting as well.. I have 10 acres and a couple 3d targets and "bag" targets.. Can shoot elevated as well on either my 16ft deck or down a hill in the back.. Also have a small section of woods that could be good for some stump shootin (and I havent even done it!!)... Ive passed the Goodyear place, but never actually knew what it was, may have to look into that!
