Double/Triple Anchor
« on: October 23, 2007, 02:39:00 AM »
I'm trying to get a double anchor ingrained into my shooting. Cockfeather on my nose and string on my eyebrow,,,thumbknuckle in my jawbone somewhat. For those who have sucessfully swithed from one shooting style to another,,,how long does it usually take? With diligent practice,,,could I see myself having this become natural after a few weeks?

Just remember, that with the cock feather on your nose, and string on your eyebrow....your elbow could still be pointing anywhere.

What happens if you need to borrow some arrows and they have a different fletch cut? Does the string on your eye brow distract from your focus on the target?

I knew a guy that always used the back of his broadhead as a draw stop....but he got in a differnt position on a real trophy and he drew the string right out of the nock.  I also shot with a guy once that used the cock feather on the nose....I just thought he had a cold, but when I asked, he said his feathers cause the sneezing.

I use a double anchor, but its all me anchoring on me, and none of my equipment is in the equation.  I use two - hand to facial anchors - that always keeps my elbow where it needs to be to get proper back tension...and get me all set up on bone structure.  That's the whole purpose of the double anchor for me.

I hear you about my draw elbow Terry. I'm still tinkering on it to make sure I get my draw elbow in line with my arrow. I noticed that at times I'd snap shoot. I wanna be as consistant as I can possibly get. I'll keep at it and rememeber to keep alignment priority.
