I shoot a bear recurve #55 amo 60" with a peep site and am thinking of switching to instinctive, since I have found when shooting a bow there so many variables in the shot that even with sights I often use instinctive or subconscious actions to manipulate the shot. I figure shooting instinctive would definitely give me less limitations in hunting situations and be just as if not more rewarding when I have a nice shot. However, in making this move I want to tune everything as well as possible so I start off correctly. So I was wondering if I could get some complete instructions start to finish of a thorough tuning process. For instance, establish ing the correct brace height, nock height, arrow spine(I need new arrows so I want to start off right there too). I am fairly new to archery and tuning so please don't be afraid to be wordy and descriptive in any replies. For instance, I know nock height is a factor but I don't know how to consistently test it from different heights, do you place nocks on loosely so they maintain position but can be moved, or do you tie thread around the string to mark the spot? Thanks for your time.
