freaky fishtail!
« on: January 13, 2008, 07:51:00 PM »
I'm shooting a 54# @ 27 Morrison ilf with 580 grain Beman mfx 400's.I had everything shooting well and took the bow apart to go to Texas on a hog hunt. Got back and now my arrows are wiggling left to right and really frustrating me. This setup was flying fast and true before which leads me to believe my problem is with my release or form. Any suggestions on things I can try?

The problem may well be FORM, but I've noticed after taking my bows down to travel, the first several shots didn't shoot the same...got to doing a little checking and found, the string contracts when not under tension, so after stringing the bow the brace was close to 3/8'' higher than normal and took several shots to return to normal.

A string will shrink and change the braceheight on you..I use Rods strings and discovered it myself the same way..but Im like the Rod on thinking probably a lot of it is form. When Rod speaks...I listen   LOL!!!! I have a great respect for him
