Trying to get the old form back
« on: April 17, 2008, 07:57:00 PM »
I used to be able to shoot fairly well, not great but pretty good.I had a stroke this past January and my stregnth and vision have slipped a little.I am now trying to figure what will work for me again. I have reduced my draw weight a little.  That seems to help.I am working on whether or not to cant the bow and how much. I think that I used to shoot it straight up.I have changed my anchor to something along the way Terry explained in another post.  I used to hit my anchor and the arrow was awayshortly.  How long do most of you guys hold your anchor? Irish thought that I was shooting pretty well considering what I've been through but I thought that this may be the time to startrefining my shooting form. Maybe I can get Irish to toss a few of thoise aspirens in the air and give that a try. probably wouldn't have time to think about all of that form stuff.  just concentrate and hit the pil.
thanks for your input

Sometimes an athlete has got to go back to square one...especially after what you have been through.

I would suggest working on your form until it's consistant and solid and than work on your aiming techinique.
