recurve technique
« on: January 21, 2009, 09:52:00 PM »
hi guys. Ian Johnson gave me a new glass recurve over the weekend, and i love it. fast and hard hitting,  but im used to an elb. with that i had to lean forward, use a pretty steep cant, and keep my arm bow arm bent quite alot. do i keep the same technique for the new bow?

I don't know about leaning forward.I use a stance that gives me the best balance and allows a natural alignment with the target.

A lot of guys shoot slightly different.I think the most important aspect is an exactly repeatable cycle from shot to shot. For me that just means a comfortable natural alignment with the target.

If you are having to twist or contort into what someone else tells you is the proper position, you are having to use muscles to hold yourself there.Muscles will get tired and you will be less consistent.
