Bareshaft Tuning? Pics

Hi all, I'm switching to carbons this year and I have never bareshafted, Did a little today at 20 yds. Will this be alright or do I need to make some adjustments. Thanks for the help, Gizz

It shows a little nock left, which I would find perfectly acceptable since the fletches will stiffen the shaft a little anyway.

Your bare shafts are impacting right in the middle of your fletched shafts, indicating neither nock high or nock low.  Some people would like this, others might prefer a little nock high, maybe move the nock point up 1/16".

From 20 that's pretty good, just a bit stiff. What do they do at 30?....O.L.

Looks good as long as your fetched shafts have broadheads on um. Also I wonder if a layered target like you have will hide a high or low nocking point problem, might want to rotate your target. That's Good shottin

Thanks for the answers guys. Mcdave I am right handed. O.L., I haven't shot any at 30 yet if I get a chance shortly I'll give it a try, I thought they were a little stiff but I'm already shooting 300 up front, how much more do you think it would take to get them right. I've been thinking about trying 350 up front anyways, do you think that would do it. Thanks guys.

Thats real good.  Thats as far as I would with bareshaft.  I would then move out to 30yards with broadheads and see how they group.

My bareshfts fly crookred and then impact with the fletched arrows??? Kinda near them . At 15 yrds and 20. I can't seem to get that nice of a group. I am still learning.LOL

Most of the best shooters can't shoot an arrow "straight"...It could be a tuning problem but most likely it's a form problem you'll never fix using tuning. Just ignore it....O.L.

OL, are they weak or stiff?  I know you're the guru on this, I'm just trying to understand. The bareshafts look weak in relation to the fletched shafts.  Or am I reading it vice- versa?

Your bareshafts actually grouped better than your fletched arrows (forget the angle the bareshafts are in the target) - Is that the normal pattern for those arrows? Compare 10 or 12 ends of 2 bareshaft and 2 fletched arrows before you try to draw conclusions IMHO..

Are you shooting bareshafts or fletched arrows when it really counts? Think about it...

Brian's right. I hope the photo was just an example of several ends. Look at the average of many.  Crandog, if he's right handed, the bare shafts are grouping left of the fletched, that is a stiff indication. Only the group relationship means anything, shaft angle is too often form related, not tuning....O.L.

Ok that makes sense.  Nock right stiff, arrows correct and impact left.  I think I get it.
