That's what I said above...just worded a little different.  So, we do agree that they are not the same.

bawana bowman :

You quote what I've done to prove there is a difference to the doubters:

"What you are saying is basically, if you put a person in total darkness, where they can not see there arrow, and have no reference points to go by and ask them to shoot a small point of light at an unknown distance, then this is true instinctive shooting. "

We do it by shooting at a candle light in total darkness, one shot and YOU will know people can shoot totally instinctive , even though your comments make me think you believe otherwise . I've saw disbelievers drop their jaw in total awe. This has been discussed, debated and almost started fist fights in the past. BUT there is such a thing as a total instinctive archer.

Respectfully Instinctive

I am just starting to transition from gap to instinctive. The first arrow in an end I line up gap style with one eye closed, then holding on target I open the other eye and think about the sight picture. I then shoot the rest of my arrows with both eyes open and focused on the point of impact, while trying to keep the same sight picture and form. Ive found that after a while I am able to go to differnt distances without going back to checking the gap.
