Adcock and A & H
« on: November 15, 2007, 08:50:00 AM »
If you like these bows and watch the ads, you know that the prices of these bows being sold as used has finally began to drop. In the past I have seen them sell for prices like $1800. People have been paying a premium price to get a used one becuase they do not want to wait for a new one.
The question I have is, if you are interested in these bows, what do you consider a fair price to pay for a used one?
"Please please" do not change this thread to the question if they are worth it or not, or if you like it or not. We all understand many think they are over priced, we all understand some do not like the bow.
I am just interested in the answer from people who like the bow, what you think a good price is right now?
John

What the ONE person who buys the bow is willing to pay and what ONE person selling the bow is willing to take.

If it were the specs I want I'd pay new price...no more though, if not the exact specs I want I wouldn't want it, tempting but it would be a sore point as long as the bow was around. I've been patiently waiting for 4 or so years now...I have a good feeling about this year!!

I would say what was said above, but myself, I think an ACS CX in used condition $650-$800 would be a fair price. If in Excellent cond. I may go $900 or so. Shawn

Somewhere around new price....depending on condition and 'want' factor. I currently have 2 and 1 on order.

I think $900 or below is the mark now.

as in all things, what the market is willing to pay is the rule.since A and H ( who are really great to work with) are now catching up and the wait time is much less the price is down. I'd say 60% of new is a good rul of thumb provided the bow is in ggod shape.

littlebigman, said it the way I would figure the used price. (50-60%) is a very normal starting price point for anything used.

I would pay around 900 to 1K.  I bought a used one for new price about 4 mos ago and do not regret it at all.  It is really a fine shooting bow and a joy to shoot.  I was in such good condition that I don't think a new one coulda looked much better.  Get one...you will love it.

Stripstrike that looks like a really big bear with an Orca paint job in your avatar. Can you post a better pic and maybe a few details? Looks amazing!

a few weeks ago there was a left hand adcock ACS for selling on ****...the starting bid was 1200 usd... but finally there was no bid for this bow !!!...3 years ago some used adcock was sold for 2200 usd..in three years, maybe the sellers will have open their eyes..even if it belongs to the best, a bow stay a piece of wood, and now anyone can get his ACS in the year thanks to A&H...800-900 usd should be a goode price for a mint one..650 for the others...

One had a damaged riser and the other that sold for $900 was a different situation. Most of the other priced ones have been ACS not ACS-CX. Like all things though, the market will decide what they are worth in time.

Please keep in mind I am talking about an ACS CX. I know the older Adcocks prior to the ACS CX do sell a lot cheaper.
Thanks for everyone's input.

I thought I saw a LH one listed for $600...? Just checked and it is a ACS, not the CX.I bought one in like new condition for $800.

If it was the RIGHT ONE and in NEW condition then I'd pay the full price. I like the one I had.
