Targets Stolen at The Baltimore Shoot
« on: May 22, 2009, 09:03:00 PM »
For those who hadn't heard. At the Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic we had 5 targets stolen during our shoot! It happened Saturday night, on the course that sets next to the road. None of the targets were visible from the road. They tried to get 6 targets but, we think that they didn't have room. We found one target hidden in the woods! I sure hope that it was a passer by-er, rather than one of our shooters! Baltimore Bowmen has offer a $500 reward for information about the where abouts of our targets. Which we can idenify.
As everyone who has attended our shoot, you know we work very hard at making it the great shoot as it has come to be. For something like this to happen it breaks our hearts, as well as the hearts of our shooters. I hope this was an outsider and not a traditional brother!
Thanks to all who has supported us, Jerry (JD)

I think it has to be someone that shot the range and probably stayed there.  They slipped down through the woods, took the targets to the road and called an accomplice to pull up with a truck.  About 11:00 or 11:30 I took a call of nature down target #2 and saw a light down through the woods.  I watched it for a minute and it didn't move but was surprised to see a light there.  Might have been a street light way off but seemed small and not far away.  Walking out I saw 2 guys walking up the edge of the woods coming from the pavilion area.  If they were coming from the rest rooms it would seem to be easier to walk up the road.  Said hi to them and thought nothing of it at the time even after I heard about the targets the next morning.  I think the light was nothing, but I'm not so sure about the 2 guys.  You have thieves every where, even in traditional archery just not many I hope.  Hope they get caught.

The missing targets are a shame!
One question: What do the missing targets have to do with shooting a bow and the Shooters Forum?  I believe Terry has expressed in every way possible to keep things on topic (shooting topics only) in this forum.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
