Hey Jeff, missed you at some of the shoots, sure that we have passed many times. I too am first and foremost a hunter, I just really like shooting foam also. Gets into your blood, I guess! I am of the belief that you should shoot what is comfortable to you. If it is comfortable for you to shoot your hunting setup at foam, then by all means do that. I shoot a 65# Fox High Sierra recurve and over six hundred grain arrows at competitions. Tried to shoot a lighter bow at foam but I just cant get the arrow to go where I want it to. That is the only setup I shoot. I have tried shooting lighter arrows but will consistently hit on the hot side. I think that no matter your setup, if you are comfortable with it, the arrow will go where you want it to. The key is to shoot that setup enough to know what you have to do at all yardages, JMO!
