Nice "mistake buck".  Kind of like when you miss bird after bird and the dog looks back as if to say "are you gonna kill something today????".  Sounds like Max got tired of just looking and took things into his own limbs.  Hope you don't punish Max too harshly...

WOW!! What a great picture. The mountains are beautiful. Boy that buck has got a big neck on him. Nice going Walt!!! At least Max has good taste, look who he was hunting with and what he took.    ;)

Congrats Walt!

    It happens sometimes you just go with the moment.I did the "practice draw" thing last week myself. Had a couple of young does under me for several minutes, the biggest of the two stepped out and gave me one of those picture perfect poses.
    I drew back to count coup,,and the next thing in my mind was "I'm shoot'n this one!" Great table fare and easy to drag out by myself!
