gettin disgusted
« on: January 05, 2010, 09:49:00 PM »
ok, i have took of the last two nights off from shootin to be fresh. ithought i was shooting good but now that i am gettin better i am gettin more picky. i have been shooting right most of the time. durint daylight hours when i really line the arrow up with spot i still half time  hit 2 to 4 inches right. at night i hit 4 inches right almost everytime. i have lights on in my shed but cannot see the sight picture as well. i try not worring about height and more left and right, and usually am better on height tham left and right. im starting to wonder if my eyes are looking crooked. i was wanting to ask for any tips on moving my arrow left. my bare shafts also hit right just like my fleched, only a little lower. anyway just lookin for advice i am getting frustrated.

It might be a plate thing on the rest,Im not to sure about that .maybe you should not look at the point at all just good form look at the spot on the target and not worry about the arrow and see how you do.I dont use arrow point I do instinctive shooting.Did you paper tune?

Your arrows might be under spined. Or you could be dropping or pushing the bow to the right, if you are a righty.

Need more info.
What hand are you? If right handed, then your spine is weak. But, that also depends on your point weight. Give us some specs on your setup then we can better answer your question. But from what you have told us, your weak on the spine.

Brock,

Ask the mods to move this to the Shooters Forum. You might get more results. I just switched to a bow that is 7# heavier. First shots.....BAM!! Right in there! Now I'm having the same deal as you. I have compensated for it, but that's not the right way.

i have not paper tunned. trying different arrows and point wieghts dosnt seem to make any difference. my arrow seems to be flyin good to the eye. i shoot by looking at the spot. when i tried to line the arrow up just working on left and right, i still hit right more than not.

Brock,

Go to Lowe's and get some double sided carpet tape. Peel your sideplate off your riser, and stick it to the carpet tape, use scissors and cut close around the sideplate and stick it back on your riser. It might take several layers of the tape to move your arrow far enough to the left, but you will get there.

As said earlier, there are several solutions for your issues, but we need more info.
-Bow
-Rh/Lh
-Arrow specs
-point specs

This will help us better solve your issue.

Do you bend your head too much to the right?  This will throw your shot to the right.

sorry guys. i shoot a thundrstick that is new to me. Its 55 @ 28 and 62 long. i am right handed. i have several arrows been trying, but the carbon express herritage at 29inches and some, with three hundred up front flyes good for my heavy combo. I have a hundred grain insert and with only a 100 grain broadhead it does same thing. maybe im all screwed up. have not messed with moving my sideplate but thats why i asked first

maybe i missed something in yer posting, but as leatherneck sez, you need to be more specific on a few more things ...

how long have you been in trad archery?

is the 55# bow yer first?

what is your exact draw length?

what's the size/stiffness of those 29" carbon express arrows?

You might be pulling a little too much weight. It will make You unstable on release, try to stay still after the shot "follow thru" and see if that makes a difference. Try not to move untill You see or hear the arrow hit the target.

Good luck!

Too low sting hand arm is said to cause arrows to fly to right of the spot?
