I pretty much like you; also I wear glasses and three under doesn't interfere with them.

I broke my index finger when I was young and it healed in kind of a corkscrew fashion. When I tried to shoot split the nock pinch was on the edge of the nail and very painfull. No problems 3 under cuz now the nock is on the edge of the pad. I always had an issue getting a clean release shooting split as well.

I shoot 3 under because I wear glasses and it gets the arrow up under my eye just like looking down a shotgun barrel.

I tried a few shots last night 3 under.  That might be worth working on after the season.  Definitely gets that arrow more under my eye and doesn't mess with my glasses.  Heck, I might even be able to shoot with a ball cap on...

I switched to 3 under just to try it and I've stayed with it for 5 months.  It seems the bow is noisier but the shooting is better.

larry try raising your brace Height I have noticed I shoot three under and have to have my brace height a little higher than when I used to shoot with split finger.

Many folks experience improved accuracy with bringing the arrow closer to the eye.  It also reduces your "point on" distances which can be an advantage.  I'm of the opinion that most folks "see" the arrow in their peripheral vision, some just rely on that feedback more than others. (Check the post on how many finalists at the Trad Nationals shot 3-under)

For me its easier to find my tooth in the corner of my mouth, and it feels much more comfy on my fingers. I agree with bow noise, it is slightly louder. I will also say some bows not tillered for 3 under can be a bugger to tune on occassion.

I went from split to three under until I saw a video that drops off the ring finger, thus making two under. The arrow is closer to the eye, I draw my right knuckle across my face to the back of my jaw, ala Terry Green.  Gives a clean realease... works for me.

My son (15) always shot split finger. Could NEVER tune properly - no matter how hard we tried. One day switched to 3-under - result - perfect tuning. He placed first at the South African Trad Champs (Juniors) and ended 6th overall last month and now beats me in 3D comps regularly (go boy!!). I know many have bows made for them or make their own, but for the guys buying, try to check how the bow was tillered.
This is where I have no idea how to check - except to try both styles. Perhaps someone has a more technical or obvious way to check before buying??

I switched to three under about 3yrs ago because of index finger preasure on the arrow knock that I could not break.  I have not had any regrets so far.

I was a split finger snap shooter for the longest time, then went through a very bad target panic stage and am now working on 3 under, firm anchor, 2nd finger to corner of mouth with thumb locked behind jaw. Arrow comes up nicely behind and just below eye. Nice sight picture. Slow to change but seems to be coming around just fine.

I shoot 3 under just cause it is more comfortable.  How much does it affect you if your bow was not tillered for 3 under.  Not sure if mine was and have been having some tuning problems.

None of my current bows are tillered for three under and those I've had that were didnt make much of a difference. I start all bows from the begining and have had no problems.

set your nock point....

play with brace height to find sweet spot....

tune arrows to the bow....(whole different subject)

fine tune bow with small adjustments to brace height and nock point......(if needed, I usually do this when getting arrows to fly perfect)

I started shooting 3 under a couple months ago and I cannot believe how much better it has made my accuracy. I will never go back to split finger.

I shot a short bow, and with split finger I was constantly pinching the arrow and having it come off the shelf. Tried 3 under and that problem was solved. However that short bow was very noisy shooting 3 under, so I bought a longer bow. I now shoot 2 under and other then my finger going numb, I like it a lot. I get super clean releases and the bow isnt noisy either.
