Newest two knives i have made.
« on: January 27, 2007, 05:20:00 PM »
The first one is a skinner with Osage Scales.
The second one is a little utility neck knife with Camphor burl scales.  Both are 1095HC steel.
Thanks for looking and any comments, critique welcome please.

I love it! Especially the osage one, it would match the bow I try to make so perfectly!

Beautiful polish too.
Well done

They look nice to me. I'm currently working on my first two helle blade knives. I don't know a thing about the termanology or metal. Scales is the wood on the sides I assume? How did you make that brass thing on the front? What's it called? Thanks, Mike

Hey thanks guys.  Bodork, those are called bolsters.  They are scrap brass, all i use is scrap brass from work.  Those were from 3" brass tube that i cut into strips and flattened.
It is a great hobby as stickshooter would agree.  He makes some awesome "Cheater" blades.
I've been waiting for one for years.......Did ya hear that Stick?
