More Film
« on: December 16, 2010, 09:47:00 PM »
Don't know if this is helpful but I filmed my self from overhead. The shot is a little too tight but in the first set of overheads I can see where my forearms is (or isn't) lining up with the arrow. What do you think? Is this footage worth much? I'll try to get a wider shot next.

Lets go to the tape!:

John,  You're really looking pretty good!  Yes, you are not completely lined up with the  arrow but that's minor.  You can "stick your chest out" a little to get that string forearm lined up with the arrow but that leads to the question:  "how are you shooting?"   As said before, you have better form than 95% of the shooters that I see.  The real question is are you happy with your shooting at this time?  If so, keep doing what you are doing and don't change anything.

Don't hold your bow hand so loosely that you have to grab the bow when you shoot the arrow. Hold it as loosely as you can without doing that. I didn't notice this in the first group of videos you posted.  Funny how we can do things differently at different times.  Every time I go to the range, something that I wasn't doing the last time pops up to make me miss a shot, and I have to figure out what's going on. I guess that's what makes it interesting.

what McDave said about hand and still moving head into Anchor sometimes, it's a habit i do sometimes and I've been shooting a long time. all in all very good.

This is me in clips from World Field champs in Germany this year, good to compare form during practice and in tourney as focus is away from shooting form and (should be)absorbed in the shot, it's good to keep checking shooting Form like this during pressure moments it can tell you a lot more than bale\\practice filming.

Keep it up, your doing great
