would lighted nocks help
« on: May 10, 2011, 04:06:00 PM »
I was just woundering if the use of a lighted nock during your practice would help your brain record the arrow flight better?
What are you thoughts???

Just use bright fletching.  I like Flo-Yellow(Chartreuse) best...it seems to stand out the most for me in all backgrounds.

I'm with Terry, I use bright pink fletching. I also but a piece of reflector tape on the very end of my arrow in front of the nock, for hunting reason's mainly.

P.S.
I was watching a show and a guy said that if you use lighted nocks P&Y won't let you enter it in the record books. Don't know if thats important to you but just a side note.

I don't know for sure. I would say its worth a shot. I shoot woodies or I would try it tonight and let you know. Good luck! Hopefully somebody that's tried it will chime in.

Sounds expensive, especially if you start breaking nocks.  ;)

I'm also a big fan of the fletching - bright yellow or pink (or both) seems to work.

I shot lighted nocks a couple of years ago and did not really notice any great benefit from it.

I'll definately second the bright fletching and matching nock as the way to go.  I lit up a nock once and all it did was catch my hair on fire and burn my lips off.  Some ideas are best left alone.    :knothead:

I bet it didnt do a thing for brain function, and it was probably hard to keep lit.....

A little white rabbit fur wrapped around the nock end of the shaft works as well.

I love using lighted nocks on my carbons for hunting but i don't have that option on my cedar arrows so i have to go with bright colors. I don't think lighted nocks will give you any added help when shooting instinctive other than helping to find your arrows later.
