anchor ploblem
« on: November 07, 2011, 09:15:00 PM »
I shoot 3 under and am working on my release trying to get this right. I use a tab but the reason I am having so much trouble is on the release is the tab hits or rubs my mouth and libs really hard I try to hook my finger good and in the same place everytime. Am I not letting the string go fast enough or what.  Mike

What kind of results are you getting?  Are your shots going left, right, or straight (and are you shooting LH or RH)?

Best way to figure out how to help you is if you could take a video of you shooting.

If you're pulling back slightly to the outside, rather than straight back, that will throw your shots to left and the string into your face.

If you keep pulling through the shot, your hand (and tab) should end up by your neck after your shot, and shouldn't come in contact with your mouth.  Alternatively, if your tab is overlapping your fingers, you can trim it.

If you are trying "letting the string go fast enough", that could be your problem. You can't open your fingers fast enuf to do this. Just relax everything from your fingers to your elbow and let the string push your fingers out of the way.

You can first upload it to a site like youtube.com, and then you can post a link on here to the youtube video.

Just throwing this out there, Is your tab trimmed enough. Put your tab on grip the string like normal, put pressure on the string as to start your draw, now while pressure on the string look at your finger nails on the string hand, if you can see tab sticking out past the finger tips your tab most likely needs to be trimmed.
