Favorite longbow with a recurve grip
« on: November 20, 2007, 06:10:00 PM »
What is your favorite longbow with a recurve grip? I have a 66" Stewart slammer 3 piece, but I can't get used to a lower wrist grip. I am thinking of something in the 62-66" range. Thanks for any input.  BOB

I think it would be hard to beat the Morrison Shawnee.

Bob ,
Check out the Hummingbird longbow line , easy to shoot and you can trade off between recurve and longbow fairly easy .

I'm the same way. I can't hit anything with a low wrist bow and struggled shooting with most LB's. I shot a bud's Morrison Dakota a while back and could shoot that bow as well as my recurves.

Well, Leon's bows are hard to beat not matter what the grip. That said, Bob Lee has the recurve grip on their longbows. I actually moved to one from a Stewart longbow and Rob Lee modified the grip (for free) to make it closer to what I was used to. They have several different grips.

The only one I have ever owned was a Bob Lee and it was a great shooting bow.

This is what a Firefly with the high grip looks like.  Extremely smooth bows.

There are some awesome looking bows there. I hope to try some of them at the TRAD EXPO in January. I don't know much about the CROW CREEK,FIREFLY or MIKUTA,but they look as nice as anything else out there. Thanks for the replies
