I don't think that it is that big a deal shooting a bow tillered for split 3 under, in my experience.  It does seem to make them a tad noisier; and perhaps some lose a little cast, but not enough to make the accuracy swap..."not worth it".  Hope this helps!!
Funny thing...I've mostly shot three finger more accurately, but am experimenting with split on a couple of bows and having some surprising success   :)   ...go figure... good luck and have fun playing with 3 under!   :)
Have a nice day!
Kevin

You can just move the nock point up on the bows tillered for 2 under.  I made the switch and had my zipper tillered 3 under and I'll never go back.  I too dropped down in bow weight.  My consistency has improved by leaps and bounds.  Good luck.

I agree with the tiller not being to important.  I have bows that I built twenty years ago when I still shot split, and they shoot just fine three under which is how I shoot now.

No problem for me shooting any of my bows three under. I made the switch to three under last summer and my shooting improved quite a bit. Check out Rick Welch's accuracy factor video if you haven't already. The style he demonstrated, three under with the double anchor (nose to the feather) really helped me to be a more consistent shooter. Consistently better that is.

What does a bowyer have to do to the tiller to define split finger or 3 under?
