Confused about spine
«

I'm looking to get some cedar arrows but am unsure what spine to get. I have a 40 and 43lb bow that I want to shoot the same arrows with and I have a 57lb that I will get another doz. for. I draw 29" and all bows have flemish twist standard strings(B-50) 125-145 gr heads(will probably get some WW to try next year, cant remember the weight). Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, bows are all recurves

No one is probably going to give you an exact number for spine (including me). Arrow spine is part of the witchcraft of archery. All the charts and advice can get you close, a starting point if you will. I'll stop my rambeling and give you some links to check out. You should be able to make a decision and start working to your correct spine.

With a longer than normal draw you'll need arrows for a higher draw weight than what you have listed. Unless those are the weights you are actually drawing at 29".
3 Rivers sells a spine test pack of arrows so you can figger out which shoots best out of a particular bow .
They'll probably get you in the ballpark if you call 'em and give 'em your info.
Don't settle for so-so flight. You'll shoot more accurately and get better penetration with properly spined arrows.

thanks for the links. bow weights are listed at 28" so I'm drawing more. I've been shooting carbons but I feal(and it sounds) like I'm dry firing my bows. Picked up half doz woodies for the 57, got lucky on spine, they fly sweet but dont know the spine on em.(got em off that auction site, figured one of my bows would like em)

you will need a 50-55 lb spined arrow cut to 29" length. This should work nicely with heads around 125gr. 11/32 tapers would work super.

If you are drawing 29", I would use a 30" arrow spined 55-60# for the two lighter bows. 70-75# for the heavier bow. Hap

Hop Hap has it nailed. The late 60's BP's with B50 strings should fly like darts with 55-60 and 70-75
