Arne and the others who chimed in. I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to go over some things I had come up in my shooting.
Comming over from bare bow compound to recurve 9 months ago was a pretty easy transition. within a month or so I had figured out the subtle differences in form and tuning, and was on my way to some pretty good shooting (no Rick Welch or Rod Jenkins, but good for some plaques at the local 3D and hunting for sure)
Then I switched up to the Longbow and was reading about how to grip a longbow and thats where my problems started. I successfully detrained my grip, trying to duplicate what was read in multiple books and forums on the proper LB grip. Well Moebows pictorial really drove home that the same grip I used on my compound and recurve could and should be used on my straight grip LBs. So long story short my shooting is back up to par, my form has straightened back out and I am back to using good solid form with some tweaks for my particular build.
I hope anyone reading this that has or is having a similar situation takes note, that you don't have to change much once you have figured out good solid form. I have a somewhat static target stance and always have, 23 years of shooting, and it has always payed off in hunting situations and on the line so I am going back to that.
Again thank you
