shoulder problem
« on: October 04, 2012, 06:48:00 PM »
I'm picking up the bow again after a 10 year drought. When I get near my anchor, I feel a snapping sort of feeling in my drawing shoulder. Not really pain, but distracting/worrisome. Anyone have this and can I just work through it?

Be careful Skydog!  Can you find a coach to help you out?? This should be your first thing to do!!!!!  If not, can you make a video and tell us when exactly you feel it?  This is not something to fool around with and a "snapping" is not good but MAY be something you are doing wrong and not a physical problem.  Whatever you do, proceed with caution.

Go see an orthopedic surgeon and let him do some range of motion to pinpoint the problem. I use to have a problem with my shoulders, Moebow's video did more for me than anything. Arne, that rotational draw you do. I have been shooting close to 40 yrs. I do not draw straight back anymore and my shoulder feels great. This might sound crazy but I broke my right collar bone with 16 ribs. My shoulder does not hurt anymore. I think that little bit of movement medially fixed my impingement problem.

Night Stalker,

Thank you! I'm very glad to hear that the rotational draw works for you.  I seem to be batting a "1000" today with your post and ArkyMorg's.

He was referring to some videos I did a while back.  If you haven't seen them, they MIGHT give you some IDEAS that may help.  Go to Youtube and do a search for "TheMoebow1" and they will come up.

I still caution you to have that shoulder checked out!
